Many of us look at Idols as the ideal girl, a cultivated perfection. And many of us fantasize about being with them. Having your Oshimen as you girlfriend, wouldn’t that just be awesome? Hell yeah it would!
But wait, aren’t you an Idol fan?
What’s more important to you, you or your Oshimen? Would you give up your Oshimen, to have her as your girlfriend? By creating that type of relationship with her, undoubtedly you’d be sabotaging her career as an Idol. In addition, stealing her away from fans. But do you owe them anything? Why should you care? What if she wanted to date you and was on the fence about doing so? Would you stress the importance of her career and reject her, or would you tell her to pursue love?
I have a feeling most of you would want her to date you, but continue her life as an idol. Therefore you’d promote the idea of her leading two lives. Well my friend, you’ve just become the next scandal in the making. How does it feel?
You’ve betrayed your Wota brethren and dishonored the name of your Oshimen. E-e-eh, wait! Wait just a second there… was it not you who totally flipped your shit and ripped all of your last “Oshimen”’s posters off the wall due to her having a scandal? Didn’t you burn all her photos and upload it to youtube to show the world how much she’s hurt you? Didn’t you send her death threats and call her terrible names on her blog? Now you’re fueling a new scandal?! Why the change of heart tough guy?
Selfishness, that’s why.
Wota are the most selfish sub-humans on the planet (not all, obviously). You’d gladly become part of the scandal, but you’d disown your Oshimen if you weren’t. She’s for you and for you only, right? Well, everyone has that logic buddy. And if someone were to be lucky enough to hook up with your Oshimen, you should continue to support her. Repay the happiness she’s brought you, that’s the best thing you can do as a true fan.
What if you were in a relationship with her, you loved her, she loved you, but she also loved being an idol? What if, she couldn’t choose between you or Idol life? Would you feel indebted to her life as an idol and denounce your relationship to protect the sanctity, health and longevity of her career? Surely such martyrdom would be admirable! You’ve put her happiness as well as your own on the side, just for her fans!
They want a “pure” idol and would unite against anyone who sullies that image, but if they had the chance, they’d jump on it themselves and wouldn’t think twice about ruining her career in the interest of romance. You’d turn her down, just to have some other Wota come and snatch her away. Coulda been you, but now it isn’t. Guess its true, nice guys finish last.
Upholding Idol ideology is paramount, however only when it’s convenient for you. Most wota agree that Idols need to be pure and boyfriend-less. But most wota wouldn’t hesitate to be branded a hypocrite if opportunity arose. And hey, more power to them, go forward. But why the tantrums when you’re not the one she chooses?
Idols bring us so much happiness, why not allow them to experience as much as they desire? I’m a wota… I don’t fancy the idea of my idols dating. However based on the situation and which girl (I’m a DD, I have no Oshi), my answer to this situation would be different from girl to girl. And if one of my favorite members were dating some lucky bastard, somewhere, I’d be happy for her nonetheless, although I’d prefer it being me. –although if someone touches my Matsui Rena, I’d fucking kill him!!!
I appreciate Idols and what they do. So I care for their happiness and put it before my own. If you can’t handle the idea of your Oshimen dating, you probably couldn’t call yourself a fan in the first place.
What would you do? Would you date your Oshimen or would you respect the laws imposed by her career path? Would you refuse to date her because she’s an Idol?If you did manage to become apart of a scandal and things got out of hand, would you stick with her through the roller coaster ride or would you get out of dodge? And would you proudly wear the word “hypocrite” on your arm like a badge if you did manage a relationship with her? These questions aren’t really meant to be answered. These questions are meant to spark introspection on this subject. Just, thinkabout it next time there’s a scandal.

And I think the thing on the front page that keeps changing and showing your posts with a little description is very cool, but it changed too fast for me to read. Maybe make the description a bit small, or the animation slower. And I wonder what the login in the front page is for… But it’s looking very good ^_^
Thanks for your input. Its good to have.. I’m at the point where I’m not satisfied but I’ve been too lazy too work on my blog because I’m sorta like “now what do I do?”. So these little comments help me a lot. I appreciate the perspective. I didn’t even realize how fast the picture thing was moving.
Also I don’t know what I’d put there. If I’d put my posts or.. news or what. Honestly it feels a bit overkill for a personal blog but its a pre-made template that allows you to customize things so I’m just working with all the tools they give me in my dashboard.
I think I need to make some renovations to my banner, possibly a background of sorts as well. But I really.. don’t want to photoshop. lol. I told IntlWota I have a new RSS feed last night, hopefully Ray will re-follow.=_=
It’s not overkill. If someone comes here through a link on IntlWota and finds a post they like, their going to visit your Home next. Think of that. It’s a page for giving new visitors an overview of your whole blog. Once they already know you, they will usually come to it through links going straight to specific posts, because they’re following you on IntlWota, RSS or e-mail, so they won’t even see your home page. So you should probably keep links to your best posts there, and try to have something showing every topic you plan to cover on your blog.
Sure, the proper scientific way to do this would be – forget about it for now since you have no data and almost no posts anyway, and once that changes, just go to WordPress’ Site Stats Top Posts Summary for All Time and put your 10 most visited posts on your Home. Problem solved.
